KARATE
The Elkins Shotokan has been practicing at the YMCA
since 1973. Students ages twelve and older progress at
their own pace while they develop the mental and physical
discipline necessary for a healthy life. Karate is particularly
helpful for teenagers in increasing self-control, confidence
and coordination. For adults, the physical conditioning
alone counteracts physical deterioration, increases flexibility,
relieves stress, and helps control weight problems. Instructor
Chris Casto has a 1st degree black belt and has trained
in Shotokan since 1980. Advanced registration required.
