Sat., April 12th is Healthy Kids Day: One Hundred Years of Healthy Kids... Healthy Kids Day will be held on April 12th from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. There will be no daily fees that day and children can participate in activities like a basketball workshop with the D&E men's basketball team, Guitar Hero competition, gymnastics and yoga classes, and open swim. The event is free but pre-registration is required. Call the Y at 636-4515 to register or for more information.

Program News

Aquatics:
* Evening beginner's swim classes for youth ages 3 & up will start April 14th with instructor Kathleen Chatfield.
* A new session of morning preschool and parent and child lessons will start in June.

Health & Fitness:
* Learn to fence with instructor Colin Henning on Saturday afternoons at 1 p.m. No equipment or previous experience required.
* Watch for new Zumba classes to begin this Spring with instructor Marilyn Smith.

Youth Programs:
* April gymnastics classes start April 1st for children ages 2-4 and 5 & up.
* The Legg Family Youth Center is open every Friday evening from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. for high school students and on Saturdays from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. for youths in grades 5 through 8.

Special Classes/Other News:
* Join the YMCA's new multisport club and enjoy the opportunity to train and network with fellow local triathletes (and hopefuls). The club meets every 2nd Monday of the month at the YMCA at 6 p.m. Visit the club's website which includes information on upcoming races and training events.
* We've joined GoodSearch - a search engine that uses Yahoo - now you can search the web and raise money for the Y.
* Recycle your used inket cartridges at the Y through Empties4Cash - you'll help the environment and raise money towards facility improvements. Use the drop box located in the lobby.
